About this number
We estimate how many people are running in Portugal right now (population 10,749,635) with a Fermi estimate that multiplies the runner participation rate, weekly frequency and session length by the local time, day of week, weather and season. It isn't a precise measurement, but it rises around 6am and drops on rainy days and late at night — close to how it actually feels.
